The course of study shall be for duration of two year consisting of 200 working days/curriculum transaction days or 1200 hours (06 days per week @ 06 hours per day) excluding admission and examination days. The 200 working days will include teaching practice, revision examination, and study holidays.

The programme consists of a theory component and a practicum component.

Theory component consists of five perspective courses, one pedagogic course and three optional courses.

 I. PERSPECTIVE COURSES

 Each student has to study the following perspective courses compulsorily

• Psychology of Learners and Learning
• Education in Contemporary India
• Education and Socialization
• Essentials of Teaching and Learning 

 II. PEDAGOGIC COURSE

 Each student has to study first optional subject Paper I based on their parent discipline (Major Subject) at the UG level

• Pedagogy of English Paper-I
• Pedagogy of Tamil Paper- I
• Pedagogy of Mathematics Paper-I
• Pedagogy of Biological Science Paper - I
• Pedagogy of Physical Science Paper-I
• Pedagogy of Computer Science Paper-I
• Pedagogy of History Paper-I
• Pedagogy of Commerce and Accountancy Paper-I

 III. OPTIONAL COURSES

 Each student has to study the following optional courses compulsorily

• Yoga Health and Physical Education
• Environmental Education
• Information and Communication Technology in Education

 

Each candidate whose admission is approved by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University should gain 85% Attendance (200 days) for B.Ed., Failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the University Examination. (Both written and practical examinations)
